Indong Tea

Indong is a magnificent Tea Garden in Western Dooars perched in the foothills of a Himalayan Range. On the Western boundary is Mateilli town.

In the year August 2014, the Company has been taken over by Sri Hariram Garg and their Associates Company. Under the Leadership of Sri Hariram Garg, He started putting his invigorating efforts to bring back the economic viability by way of massive investments in all spheres while at the same time taking a keen interest in the welfare of the workers. He invested fresh capital and installed new machinery which results high yields plantations produced.

The estates raise a clonal Nursery of 9 to 10 Lakh Plants every year to ensure using genuine planting materials for both crop a quality and do not depend on outside commercial nurseries.

In order to produce high quality of Tea, Tea Estate have installed New modern machinery & Equipment by scrapping the old one.

The British era 2 storied wooden structure withering house has been totally dismantled and in same place a new 3 storied concrete withering house has been constructed at a cost of Rs. 2 Crores with additional withering Troughs thereby increasing the trough withering capacity to 60000 KG green leaf as against only 30000 KG earlier.

Introduction of Vermi Compost Project with a yearly productions capacity approx. 500 MT has been started in 2016-17 which is perhaps the biggest non-commercial project in the entire Dooars Tea Region.

The estate has undertaken various welfare project for its worker. AC ambulance has been provided for the hospital relacing old one, water purification plant has been installed at the Garden Hospital, Two nos of impressive creches including one Mobile Creche, have been made for the children of the working mothers, one sulabh Souchalaya is under construction within the precincts of the hospital, various Medical Camps, Cultural Programmes and sports are being organized for the workers and their wards, the garden temple and karam puja place have been newely made along with many more such projects.
